Above are the scans for a WWI 85th Battalion cap badge. This beautiful example is complete with both lugs. (the white around the base of the right lug is a residue frtom oxidation - not a weld.) A clean copper o/r badge with very nice patina giving evidence to its age. A beauty for any collector of Canadian CEF badges.

Formed in 1915. This battalion was raised in Nova Scotia, with headquarters in Halifax. Sailed for England in October of 1916, ,and served in France and Belgium. These boys replaced the 73rd Battalion in the 12th Infantry brigade in the front lines.
