(brass composition) This beautiful example is complete with both original welded stem lugs, as well as an oval halmark plaque on the obverse which reads Birks & Sons - London. (View scans.) An excellent example of a rare hundred-plus year old cap badge from the CEF. A beauty for the discerning collector of Canadian CEF badges.
Formed in 1914. This battalion was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with recruits also coming from the area. with headquarters in Winnipeg.They sailed for England in June of 1916 with a contingent of 1173 officers and inlisted ranks. in England they became part of the 11th Infantry Batalion, where they served throughout the war.
