Above are the scans for this French Army uniform badge. It is made of heavy bronze. Has a large "V" over a special forces style sword with the letters "L & V" forming the background. Here is some new info from a friend of Shoulder to Shoulder...

"The LVF means Legion des Volontaires Francais contre le Bolchevisme (Legion of French Volunteers against Bolshevism). It was a Vichy era French collaborators unit raised by the Nazis. It was the forefather unit of the Charlemagne waffen SS Division. The crown on the badge actually represents Charlemagne's crown."
