You are viewing a CEF 22nd Battalion WWI rare Cap badge. This badge was used by the famous French Canadian Battalion known throughout WW1 & WW2 as the "Vandoos". This beautiful example has both original lugs intact and in good usable order. It is also nicely hallmarked with "Caron et Freres - Montreal 1914. (view scans for details). A clean copper o/r cap badge with very nice patina giving evidence to its age. A rare beauty for any collector of Canadian CEF badges.

Formed in 1915. this battalion was raised in St. Jean Quebec. Sailed for England in May of 1915 and was part of the 5th infantry brigade 2nd Canadian Division. Served with prestige throughout WWI in France and Belgium.
