You are viewing a vintage CEF 157th Battalion cap and collar set . The set is made of age darkened copper. It has all its lugs intact but the cap badge has been relugged by a previous owner. Nevertheless the set is in excellent display condition and still very usable to enhance a period uniform.

This battalion, known as the Simcoe Foresters, was of course formed in Simcoe County, Ontario, during the winter of 1915-16. It was composed of 998 officers and other ranks. They sailed for England on October 18th, 1916. Upon arrival they became part of the 19th, 116th, and 125th Battalions supplying re-inforcements to those battalions fighting in France.
