The 29th Waterloo Regiment has a rich history. Originally founded in 1886 as the 29th Waterloo Battalion of Infantry, it has undergone several name changes, including 29th Waterloo Regiment in 1900 and 29th Regiment (Highland Light Infantry of Canada) in 1915. The regiment's present title was acquired in 1920.
