Above you may view the scans for a WWI 203rd Batallion cap badge. (brass composition) This beautiful example is complete with both lugs, placed vertically and of the "flat" type. Not the faint hallmark, "Birks 1916". The bright finish quality of this badge and the maker "Birks" suggests that this is an officer grade badge for the Winnipeg Rifles.


Formed in July of 1916. This battalion was raised in Manitoba, with headquarters in Winnipeg. Known as the "Royal Winnipeg Rifles". Sailed for England in October of 1916, and was used to resupply the 18th Reserve Battalion.
