Above you may view this 2 piece set of collar badges for the Royal 22nd Regiment. They are made of white metal and are in the figure of the WWI 41st Battalion cap badge. They are in the form of a "fleur de lys", the symbol of the province of Quebec. All lugs are in good usable order, a nice clean set...

Formed in St. Jean, Quebec, this regiment, which became affectionately known as the "Vandoos" sailed for England on May 20th, 1915. It was one of the larger battalions with 1133 enlisted ranks and officers. One of the first battalions to enter the frey, these fighting French Canadians, acquitted themselves admirably in Belgium and France, serving with the 5th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Canadian Division. A time when French Canadians still believed in the "Dominion". They went on to join the WWII frey, as well, and are still a functioning Canadian Army Regiment to this day!
