Above you may view the scans for a WWI 27th Battalion cap badge. (browning brass composition). This badge is somewhat unusual in that it has a "tang" type attachment similar to the style used on British badges.


Formed in 1915. This battalion was raised in Western Ontario and Manitoba, with headquarters in Winnipeg. Known as the "City of Winnipeg 27th Battalion". Sailed for England in May of 1915,and served in France and Belgium with the 5th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Canadian Division.  A clean browning brass o/r badge with very nice patina giving evidence to its age.

 A beauty for any collector of Canadian CEF badges.
