Above you may view the scans for this interestingly designed WWI 216th Battalion cap badge.
A very clean shiny copper badge excellently preserved, and with both original horizontally configured flat style lugs original
and in good order.
Formed in mid 1916. This battalion was raised in Toronto, Ontario, with headquarters in Toronto. They were known as the "Toronto Bantams". The 216th sailed
for England in April of 1917, and upon arrival they were called upon to resupply the 3rd Reserve Battalion. A beauty for a shadow box, memento, or for collection
purposes. The 216th Battalion (Bantams), CEF was authorized
on 15 July 1916 and embarked for Britain on 18 April 1917. Upon arrival, its personnel were absorbed by the 3rd Reserve Battalion, CEF on 5 May 1917 to provide reinforcements to the Canadian
Corps in the field.
