This British Columbia badge is made of re-polished browning copper, with both original horizontal flat style lugs in good order, as well as its cross pin, as found. This badge has a high quality Indian Head design with no chips or dents. Note this type has no "overseas" motif. Only the C.E.F. lettering at the top...
This battalion was raised in Northern British Columbia with headquarters located at Comox on the pacific coast,during July of 1915.This was a large battalion, consisting of 1007 officers and enlisted ranks. The 102nd sailed for England on June 20th, 1916. They became part of the 11th infantry brigade 4th Canadian Division fighting in France and Belgium.
