The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders of Canada was first organized in August of 1940. The related Argyll Light Infantry (Tank), an older active group, originally from Belleville Ontario, did not see overseas duty but provided replacements for other armored units overseas. Its active service units also served on
protective duties on the home front . In 1936 it received the designation "Tank" , but still wore this "light Infantry" badge until 1941 when the "Tank" designation was officially authorized. A
hard to find piece of Canada's war history.
Guaranteed 100% genuine.
