You are viewing a vintage CEF WWI 105th Battalion Cap badge. This Highlander badge is made of copper, with both original horizontal lugs in good order. This is a high relief leaf design with no chips or dents. This one was most likely made by Hemsley or Tiptaft, but with no apparent maker mark evident.
Called the "P.E.I. Highlanders",this battalion was, of course, raised in Prince Edward Island, with headquarters in Charlottetown,during the winter of 1915. This was a large battalion, considering the population of the Island at that time, fielding 1124 officers & enlisted ranks. The 105th sailed for England on July 16th, 1916. Upon arrival they became part of the 104th Infantry battalion, fighting in France...
