This Regiment was formed in 1869.(Chateauguay is a communityjust south of Montreal,on the shores of the mighty St Laurence River.)This community reserve battalion, supplied volunteers for the WW1 numbered batallions and likewise served in WW2. In 1954 the Chateauguays were deemed worthy to be absorbed into the prestigious Royal 22nd Regiment. They became one of the regimentsbattalions. Consequently there is no Queens Crown format for this cap badge.Called the "Vandoos" among friends, the Royal 22ndregiment still forms part of the full time CandianArmy and has recently sent troops tohonor our country, onceagain, onthe Afgahn front...
