You are viewing an excellent specimen of the WW2 era Kings Crown Peel, Dufferin & Halton Highland Regiment Cap Badge. This regiment is also known as the Lorne Scots. This unusually large badge is comprised of a wreath of thistle and maple leaves, the crest of Viscount Peel, with a central demi lion rampant with three bezants, and holding between the paws a shuttle argent, all resting on a scroll bearing the motto Air Son Ar Duthchais. Below is a second scroll inscribed with the designation "THE LORNE SCOTS (PEEL DUFFERIN AND HALTON REGT)". All lugs intact on this excellent white-metal badge. Included is the tartan backing for the badge.
