Above you may view the scans for the regimental cap badge for the "Welsh Regiment". This exquisit example is from the WWI era. A bimetal badge made using a "stamping" method, and composed of white metal & what appears to be copper but may be browning brass.

It has its original tang type fastener in good order. A solid badge 100yrs old this year.

Some History:
The Welsh Regiment was an infantry regiment of the line of the British Army in existence from 1881 until 1969. The regiment was formed in 1881 under the Childers Reforms by the amalgamation of the 41st (Welch) Regiment of Foot and 69th (South Lincolnshire) Regiment of Foot to form the Welsh Regiment, by which it was known until 1920 when it was renamed the Welch Regiment. ( "The Welch", is an archaic spelling of "Welsh") In 1969 the regiment was amalgamated with the South Wales Borderers to form the Royal Regiment of Wales.
