A very fine WW2 Royal Canadian Corps of Signals ( RCCS ) cap badge. Comes with both original welded lugs intact and in good order. Made of anodized brass with a plated overlay of the Mercury figure. This is a rare and beautiful keepsake from the bygone era of this prestigious corps.

The corps was established the in 1903, making it the first independent Signal Corps in the British Empire. The Canadian Signal Corps was re-designated the Canadian Corps of Signals on 1 Aug 1921. The unit became the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in 1922, subsequent to the honor conferred on the Canadian army by King George V. They served throughout WWII with great distinction and according to their motto "Ubique" , which translates - Everywhere!

In the destructive unification of our army in 1968 to form the "Canadian Forces", the RCCS was reformed into the Communications and Electronics Branch.
