The regiment supporting this badge, affectionately called the "Spring-bok", has given Canada glory honors since 1883. The Royal Canadian Dragoons (RCD's) is an armored regiment of the Canadian Army. It is one of three armored regiments in the Regular Force. However it has served since the Northwest Campaign of 1885 (Louis Riel Rebellion), and in the Boer War, WW1, WW2, in times past. Still active today in peace keeping (Korea, Somalia ,Kosovo, and Afghanistan).
