This version appears to be made of brass but with a heavy brownish patina adding to its attractiveness. Both original lugs present and intact. Formed in 1915. This battalion was raised in Algoma and Manitoulin areas of Western Ontario, with headquarters in Sault Ste Marie. They embarqued for England in August of 1916, with a compliment of 967 officers and other ranks. Upon arrival they were attached to the 8th Reserve Battalion. A clean coppr o/r badge with very nice patina giving evidence to its age. A beautiful relic of a now bygone era.
