Above are the photos of a vintage copper CEF WWI era199th Battalion Cap Badge. This badge is made of fine highly detailed copper; made using the stamping method. Both lug type attachments are original and in good order. A very hard to find badge from the CEF era of the 20th century. ..The 199th Battalion, also known as the "Irish Canadian Rangers Duchess of Connaught's Own", came from the Montreal and Quebec area of the eastern north shore of the St Laurence river in Quebec. The unit began recruiting during the winter of 1915/16 and sailed for England in December 1916. This battalion became part of the 23rd Reserve Battalion already stationed in England...
