You are viewing a vintage CEF 194th Battalion Sweetheart pin from the WWI era. Made of brass, with its original cross pin in good order. This is a high quality design with enameling in perfect condition. Sweetheart pins where well made period copies of the soldier's cap badge often, as this one is with features highlighted using colored enamel. Soldiers would often make gifts of these to wives mothers and, of course, girlfriends .
This battalion known as the Edmonton Highlanders was of course formed in Edmonton, Alberta during the summer of 1916. This was composed of 937 members. They sailed for England on November 14th, 1916. Upon arrival they became part of the 9th Reserve Battalion supplying reinforcements to other battalions fighting in France.?

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them.
