Formed in March of 1915. This battalion was raised in Eastern Ontario, with headquarters in Kingston. After slightly more than one month of basic training the 1099 volunteers of this batallion sailed for England on May 4th,1915, under command of Lt. Col. W. St. P. Hughes. They believed the war would be over quickly, and they would be home by Christmas. Upon arrival arrival in England they were quickly moved up to the front and served in France and Belgium, throughout the war with the 4th infantry Brigade of the 2nd Canadian Division. Many of its members never did return, and now will always be forever young.
