You are viewing a full size brass cap badge for enlisted ranks in the Royal Regiment of Canada. This badge is in all original condition; no repairs or replacement parts. Both original welded stem lugs are intact and in good order.


History: The Royal Regiment of Canada is a prestigious Canadian regiment dating back to the Fenian Raids of 1866, before confederation. In WWI, in 1914 the regiment fielded the 3rd Ontario Battalion that fought with the 1st Canadian Division in France, and later the 58th Battalion was authorized for service in 1915 and served in the 3rd Canadian Division. The Royal Canadian Regiment also produced the 123rd & the 124th battalions as well as the 170th & 204th later in the war.
The second World War saw the The Royal Regiment of Canada, in active service from the 1st of September 1939. It embarked for garrison duty in Iceland with "Z" Force on 10 June 1940, and on 31 October 1940 they transferred to Great Britain. There they were re-designated the 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Canada, on the 7th of November 1940. The battalion took part in the raid on Dieppe on 19 August 1942. It landed again in France on 7 July 1944, as part of the 4th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Canadian Division, and continued to fight in North-West Europe until the end of the war. The overseas battalion was disbanded on 31 December 1945....
