This battalion was raised from volunteers in the Grey county in Southwestern Ontario, with HQ at Owen Sound. Formed during
the summer of 1915. The 147th sailed for England on November 14th, 1916. The battalion was composed of 942 members. Upon Arrival in England, they became part of the 8th Reserve Battalion
