You are viewing a vintage CEF 46th Battalion Cap Badge WWI. This South Saskatchewan battalion badge is made of brass, with a both original lugs in good order, but with a degree of oxidation around the base. It has a high relief leaf design with no chips, dents or flaws.
This battalion was raised in Saskatchewan, with members joining form the Moose Jaw area, during the summer of 1915. This was perhaps one of the largest battalions fielded by the Canadians in WWI, with 1115 members. The 46th sailed for England on October 23rd, 1915.
