This is a high quality design, made with the stamping method,with no chips or dents. Note the"South Saskatchewan"motif whichappearsin the scrolling underneath the 229.It is maker marked "Crichton's Moose Jaw". This battalion wasformed in Saskatchewan, with headquarters in Moose Jaw, during the summer and fall of 1916.Thiswas quite a small battalion. 443 members of the229th sailed for England onApril18th 1917. Upon arrival they became part of the 15th Reserve Battalion supplying re-inforcements to otherbatallions fighting in France. Guaranteed 100% genuine.
